#FOLLOWFOOTBALL

This summer I will be sharing a personal project titled #FollowFootball. Over the course of Euro2016, I will be posting illustrated football fixtures to act as a reminder for fans when and where they can see every single game of the tournament. Using Twitter and Instagram to share the work, fans can subscribe to notifications on either platform to receive live updates direct to their device on a daily basis.

ABOUT THE PROJECT

Its been a while since my last big personal project so it was about time I created something else. Personal projects are vital in offering designers the opportunity to experiment, learn new techniques and have fun. Creating your own brief can be a challenge but it offers a level of freedom that most client work cannot match. Some of my best work has come from personal projects in the past and the LFC Postcard series, which was a huge hit actually started life as a personal project before being licensed as an official LFC product.

The aim of the #FollowFootball project is to engage with other fans, offer something new and unique to my social media followers and to improve my own skills in the fields of illustration, design and animation. Ive started teaching myself the basics of After Effects in order to add some simple movement to my work. Ive also experimented with a more simplified illustration style for each player, aiming to capture simple likenesses using the minimum of shapes.
